Kayden's Track Day

After Jack's Parent's Day we had to get back quickly for Kayden's Track day. It could have been a little bit warmer out for us, but we still had a great time watching her and she had so much fun. They changed it up this year so instead of doing just a few events, they got to go to 8 different events with their class. It worked out very well and the kids had a fun time. Here she is with her friend Emma waiting for the 50 Meter Shuttle Relay. She got the baton and she is off. Her team had a nice lead when she got the baton, she was jogging along with she noticed others catching up and then she really started to run!
She then participated in the long jump and the 100 meter relay. Then her last running event was the 50 meter race. She never got first, but boy did she ever do her best! Well, I guess her relay team got 1st in both the relays thanks to her very speedy friends!
Next off to the "field" events. Emma and her doing the three legged race. They were the "slow and steady" team. They finished third out of the four in their group and were so excited that they didn't fall down! They were giggling the whole time and having fun!
Next off to the bean bag toss game. We got a good kick out of this, she either threw too soft or way too hard. Finally she landed on the board!
Off the the sack race. Laughing and having fun, they were all exhausted after this one.
They ended with the softball throw. Kayden did very well here. She threw just as far as everyone else in her class, she did excellent!
The kids were most excited when the PE teacher came over and said that since they finished early enough they would have a tug-of-war contest between the classes! There are 4 2nd grade classes. Kayden's class went first against Mrs. Pitts and won easily. Then they went against Mrs. Hyndman's class in the "Championship" and again they WON! The kids were so excited, jumping up and down and cheering. What a great way to end the day!
Mrs. Richardson's Champion Class!
