Today we took a bus tour to Sea World. It was about an hour and 40 minute drive. The ride wasn't so bad, we had a great tour bus driver. The entire ride down he told us what we were passing and pointed out stuff for us to see. He was Mexican and the kids had a hard time understanding him, but he was quiet funny, Jeff and I got a kick out of him. The kids were excited when we finally got to see the ocean. It was a little hazy out so we didn't get a great view, but good enough.
And of course the haze turned into rain and it was coming down pretty good when we got to Sea World, so into the gift shop we went to get rain gear as it was to rain all day. So $45 later, we had 5 ponchos and were ready to go! The rain didn't stop us though. We would walk from aquarium to aquarium and take our time checking everything out. When it would let up, we would spend a little more time outside looking at stuff. Here are my three star fish, they said this was Patrick from
SpongeBob!

When the rain picked up we figured it was a good time to hit the indoor 4-D movie "Light, Camera, Imagination!" It was a Sesame Street movie and the kids loved it! They had never been to a 3-D movie and this was extra special because there were more effects, like we got sprayed with water, you could smell different scents, your seat rumbled. It was great. We loved it. I had to hold Kyle so he could see and he was so funny, when stuff would leap out he would press against me so hard, but then try to reach out and grab it. It was a good time.
At the shark aquarium there was this huge shark mouth. Jeff told me to take his picture so it looked like the shark was eating him. Looks so real,
doesn't it? Ha!
Finally late afternoon it turned to sprinkles so we could be outside more. We went and saw the dolphins and you could put your hands right into the tank and the dolphins might come up to you. None came up to us, but swam close by, close enough for the kids...and mom!
Finally around 4pm the rain stopped so we hit the outdoor shows. We saw "Pets Rule" but it was a little modified due to the weather. But it was still good, we got to see the pets do all kinds of tricks. During the act, these two dogs were on a "date".
And the last thing we did before we had to leave was see the "
Shamu" act. I was so glad it wasn't raining because I really wanted the kids to enjoy this, and they really did. It was so amazing to them to see these huge whales. It was a great show, a great way to end the day!
