Our Family Vacation

We had a fun time these last two days as we took a mini vacation. We celebrated Jack's b-day in the morning and took off about 1pm Thursday to Omaha. However before we could go we had to make a quick visit to the doctor as Kayden's throat hurt when she swallowed and was very red. Luckily no strep, but she was put on an antibiotic which was good because every time we ate, she said it hurt. But she still had a fun time. So we got to Omaha and checked into our hotel. We stayed at the brand new Embassy Suites in west Omaha and it was fabulous! Highly recommend it! We swam for a while then got ready for supper. Jeff's co-worker told us of the Pizza Machine, to try something different. It is similar to Chuck-e-Cheese, but much bigger and much more fun. We were there over 3 hours! The kids loved it. They not only have games, but rides also. Jack likes playing the games and Kayden liked the rides, especially this one, the Frog Bouncer. She rode it several times. Here is Kayden taking Kyle on a train ride. He loved it and wanted to go it again! There was even a big indoor foam playground, similar to what is at a Mc D's or Burger King play area. Kyle loved that too! It was so much fun.
They even had mini golf and bowling. We opted to play golf. The kids had so much fun. Kayden is actually a very good golfer. Jack however just likes to get close to the hole and putt it in, and Kyle just enjoyed throwing the balls. Jack even took Jeff on a ride. I didn't know if he would like it, but he loved it! It went around and around very fast, then stops and goes backwards. He did enjoy it very much! He did like the games the best and got lots of tickets so he could pick some prizes.
So after the Pizza Machine everyone was tired so we went to bed and got up the next day and headed to the zoo. Since we all early risers, well the kids anyway, we were at the zoo right when it opened at 8:30am. We had so much fun, we saw everything and the kids loved every minute of it. They even posed for some pictures for me.
Kyle wasn't too sure about the petting zoo, he liked to look at the goats, but didn't want them too close. He loved the gorilla's and the aquarium the best. We couldn't get him out of there. It was so cute to watch him watch everything. He would talk to the animals too.
Kayden said she liked the tigers the best. Jack liked the lizards and leading us through the rain forest jungle. He had the zoo map and pretended it was a pirate map. He, Kyle and daddy were the captains and Kayden and I were looking for the treasure and he would tell us where to go and what to look it. It was so cute! Here they are on a 'pirate' adventure.
And when you are at the zoo for 7 hours and put 3 kids in a hot car, this is what you get!
We had so much fun. Jeff and I just couldn't believe how good the kids were. Not one melt down, fit or crying episode the entire time. They were just perfect for us. They even slept until about 30 minutes from home. It was such a good time.
