Jack's Track and Field Day

We had Jack's Track and Field Day today. They divide the class into 2 groups and I was the leader of Jack's group. There were 10 different activities to complete. First was basketball dribbling. There were 4 on a team and they had to do a relay dribbling the ball to each other. Jack started off his group. And he is very serious. Check out that tongue action! Didn't know he did that until I saw the pictures! Ha!

And more tongue action. He did a good job the first round and his team got a red star. (They don't get ribbons, but stars to put on their card: Blue for 1st, Red for 2nd and White for 3rd). They ran a second time and that time Jack got a little crazy trying to go too fast and lost his ball. But he hustled after it and got his team back in it!

On to the bag toss, he will be ready for tailgating this fall! Jack and his partner did good and got a blue star!

Gunny sack race was probably the best to watch. They had to jump a ways to a cone then jump back. Here is Jack and his group ready to go, Jack in red sack. Right out of the gate Jack falls down. But he definitely wasn't the only one that fell, I think every kid was on the ground at least once.

But he was up in no time and made a comeback and won the race. He was so excited!

The winners of each heat raced then, I had to share the picture because there he goes again with the tongue!

Next came the Big Feet race, this was also a funny one to watch because it was difficult for the kids. When they would fall off, instead of staying put and get back on, they would cheat forward several steps, then get back on. It was so funny to watch!

Jack was in the lead, until the little girl behind him caught up and took over.

They had a break halfway through and went inside for some water and a snack. We came back out and finished up. However, Jeff was my camera man and had to get back to work, so I didn't get anymore pictures. But Jack did great on the rest of the activities. They ended the day with a class tug of war. Here is Jack's class ready to go. The kids didn't really have the hang of it, most of them just fell to the ground and laughed.

Jack with all the stars he got during the day. It was a great day and the weather was just perfect to be outside. We had fun watching him and he had fun participating!
