Visit to Great G'ma Feeney

Earlier this week Jeff's mom told him that his G'ma wasn't doing well and had really started to go down hill and suggested that if we wanted to see her, we needed to get down to the nursing home in Kingsley soon. So we had plans to go to Sioux City today so we stopped by to see her. I had seen pictures of her on facebook that Jeff's cousin had taken mid February. Here is how she looked, I thought she still looked pretty well.
Unfortunately she has really gone down hill the last few weeks. She was so slouched over in her wheel chair we barely recognized her at first. So hard to see her like this. She has lost so much muscle control that she really slouches over. She was waiting to get her hair done so we chatted with her while we waited. She seemed to know who Jeff was, but had no idea about me and Kyle. Jeff told her about our upcoming trip to Florida and about the kids. She seemed to understand, but we aren't really sure what she really got. It was very hard for Jeff to see her like this. Last time we were there she was all talkative and a little sassy, would rather see her like that! We took her to get her hair done and said goodbye. Might be the last time Jeff sees her. Spoke to Jeff's parents this morning and they think she will go soon. This is Kathy's mom and she told me she hopes she just goes to sleep one night and has a peaceful sleep that doesn't wake. Thankfully she isn't in any pain so that makes it easier, but hard to see her slip away.
