Kayden and Jack have had swimming lessons the last two weeks and today was their last day. Last week it was so cold, they didn't even want to get in the water, but thankfully it warmed up this week and they had a fun week. They both learned a lot in lessons and are becoming good swimmers!
Kayden was in Level 4 this year. She learned a lot of new strokes and how to swim and do a flip turn which she was excited about. She can tread water for a long time and swim back and forth across the pool several times. She did great!
Kayden preparing to dive off the board. She does very well diving off the side of the pool, but it's hard, and scary to dive off the board!

Action shot of her, somewhat of a dive. She's getting there. She's better than me, don't know if I could dive off a board!

And since it was their last day, they got to have have fun and go down the slides.

Jack was in Level 3 this year. He didn't pass Level 2 last year, was close but not quiet there so I figured they would make it redo it. However they put him in 3. He was the only kid right out of kindergarten, most were 2
nd graders and two 1st graders. He was very nervous because they were in the area that he couldn't touch. However, he could tread water well enough that they kept him in Level 3. It was very good for him, he really learned a lot this year!

The first week he was very scared to do a lot of the stuff they were teaching him, but the second week he became more confident. He finally started to dive off the side of the pool, not real well, but he is trying. He also learned to swim across the length of the pool which was very scary for him. He has fear of going under and not being able to get back up. However, he did it and gained a lot of confidence! So much that he even went down the slide and really enjoyed it!

And he loves going off the diving board now too. Last year he went off all the time with his life jacket on but the pool changed the rule this year and no life jackets. He wouldn't go off then. So after 10 minutes of trying, he finally got enough courage to jump, with the lifeguard in the water to help him. But then today the lifeguards stayed out of the pool and he jumped and made it to the side all by himself. He was so excited and really boosted his confidence!
So I now have 2 kids that can really swim well! We went to the pool today at 1pm and stayed till 6:30! They loved every minute! Daddy even came for awhile and they showed off all they learned this week at lessons.
