Oakdale VBS Program
This week the kids have been going out to the Oakdale Church in Meriden for VBS. They have been going to past several years and love it and always look forward to going. They had a great week and tonight they had their program. Here are Kayden and Jack getting on stage and ready to sing. Now, at rehearsal, Kyle sat down up on stage and whimpered the whole time. He doesn't like being up in front and singing. At our VBS he walked off and sat next to me. So when I showed up to pick them up he was sitting there and his teacher was trying to make him happy so I went and grabbed him and told her he would come tonight but wouldn't sing.
But on the car ride he told us all about how he was going to sing. We got there and he sat with his class and even got up on stage. We were shocked! Here are Brock and Kyle getting ready to sing.
And they both sang great! Brock really got into it! He knew what he was doing and he would shake it and sing. Kyle sang the first few songs and did great. But the last one, he had enough, he stood up there and yawned, acted bored out of his mind, rolled his eyes, put his lip out like he was going to cry, but didn't. He just stood there. It was hilarious. We got lots of comments about him afterwards! But we were proud he stayed up there the whole time!
Jack did a great job singing. He knew all the words and actions!
I was worried after the first day when I picked Jack up and noticed not one single boy from Cherokee in his class. He didn't know a single other boy, our neighbor girl was in his class but so was another girl from town so they hung out together. But he didn't care one bit. He loved every minute and was mad Friday morning when it was the last day. He told me he even made a new friend! Don't know why I was worried.
Kayden also did a great job singing. She really knows the song well and does an excellent job singing, which isn't a shock to us at all!
