Kayden's Ball Game

Kayden played at Remsen tonight. Best game her team has played all year. A fun game to watch! Here is my girlie on first base getting ready to take off to second.
In the field, playing second base. This is probably after I yelled at her to get her glove off her knee! Ha!
And she swings! Poor gilr hasn't got a hit, yet, this season. Sche cracked this one, but it was just foul. She gets on base a lot, but by walking. Watch out, because when she does get a hold of one, it's going to fly out there!
Just a good one of her ready to swing. She's got great form!

Jack's ball game

Jack loves ball and is doing a great job this year! He gets so excited when he cracks the ball out there. This is his first year of coach pictch and he is doing great. He struggled in practices getting use to it, but is doing great in the games.

He hates to hit off the tee, so he waits and waits till he coach throws a good pitch, then swings. He is funny, he knows too much about ball and infoms me it is hard for his coach to picth to him because he is a left! Love this picture, he is so intense!
On first waiting to take off. And when he gets home, he slides into home  base every time, sometimes even face first.

Last Day of School

Today was the last day of 4th grade for Kayden Mary and 1st grade for Jack Man. I can't believe how fast this year flew by. Next year my girlie will move on to the middle school. Not sure I am ready for that! I wish they could stay little forever. They however, were very excited it was the last day!

Meet the Author

Today I got to go to "Meet the Author" day at Jack's school. The kids all worked hard to make their very own books that had a story line. They got to pick what they wanted to write, dedicate the book to someone and tell a little bit about themselves. Jack was the middle of the class to read and he did fabulous! Who knew he was the class clown. He had everyone laughing as he read.
A lot of kids dedicated the book to their family or a friend and explained why. Jack dedicated his book to Aiden because he gets hurt in the book. Everyone got a chuckle out of that!
His book was Jack and Aiden at the pool. A story about him and his best friend Aiden who got hurt at the pool and then was OK at the end of the story. They teacher had the pages scanned onto the computer and showed them on a screen as the kids read. Very cool! He did great too, read slowly and clearly so everyone could understand him.

Jack's Indoor Soccer Game

Parks and Rec offered indoor soccer for the first time this year and Jack was excited to play. He had his first game today. Ready for the kick off! Go Jack!

They play at the middle school on the basketball court. And they use the entire court to play, no out of bounds, except for where parents sit. And a soccer ball on a hard floor rolls alot so there was a lot of running! Jack is the tall one in this picture! He towers over most of the other kids.

Kids age 5 and up could play and there weren't enough preschoolers for a team so the young group had preschoolers up to first graders. Jack is excited that 2 of his friends are on his team this year. Those 3 boys are the biggest kids out there, with Jack leading the pack.

They did a great job and were exhausted when it was over. Thankfully they have big teams because after a few minutes of running and running and running, they were ready for a break!

Happy Birthday G'pa Chuck!

Happy Birthday to G'pa Chuck! We celebrated first on Sunday night with a cool toolbox cake Aunt Kim had made. The kids thought it was great. This is about as good as a picture you can get with 10 kids who all want to check out the cake. And the helpers blowing out the candles. No adults in this family ever get to blow out their candles any more.

And since we all had to be at a different place at a different time on G'pa's actual birthday on Thursday, we went out for supper on Wednesday night to celebrate again! And the restaurant even brought out a piece of brownie with a candle on it. Again, helpers with the candle!

Hope you had a great birthday Gpa Chuck! We love you!

First Snow Day- No School Day!

The kids woke up to snow and a 2 hour late start. And then the snow didn't stop so we had a no school snow day! And it wasn't too cold out so the kids went out side to play. I had shoveled the patio and made a big pile and they thought that was great.

Even Britt had fun outside. She had to wear an old pair of our snowpants which were way to big, but we made them work, and her tennis shoes, but she didn't care. She just wanted to play with the kids. They lasted about 20 minutes before the snow balls started to throw, and tears started to roll from a couple and everyone was back inside. But it was fun while it lasted!
